Mile High Club

I've joined the mile high club!! No not the one you're thinking of! How rude!!!
I recently saw a link for Mile High Peanut Butter Pie on Sarah's Facebook page, A Beach Cottage. Thanks to whoever you are that posted it.
Anyway, thought I'd give it a whirl, using Aussie ingredients, for my contribution to New Years Eve dessert at my sister in laws house.
Give it a go, it's as easy as..........er, um...you know

Boxing Day in the Garden

Here's a few shots of what was going on in the back garden on Boxing Day.(I love macro, can you tell?)

The Agapanthus grows really, really well here in Victoria. We have the purple ones, but would like to plant (Mr3P) the white ones this Autum.

Believe it or not, this is parsley, the flat leaf kind. It has suddenly shot to seed with the heat, but will bounce back as the weather cools . As it always does. Tabouli here we come!!

Some lemon balm and oregano (shot to seed also)
Agapanthus

Merry Christmas

I know I'm late, but I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. As you can see below, Pickle #3 was worn out by 1pm, asleep face first, with a toy in each hand. I had to get this shot before moving him to his bed.

Christmas Yumminess

To make these easy peasy fruit scrolls, I made the dough in my bread machine (using a cinnamon scroll pastry recipe). Then, roll out your dough on a lightly floured surface, spread a jar of fruit mince on top. Roll into a long log and cut into scrolls. I covered mine with cling wrap (sprayed with oil to stop it sticking) and a tea towel, to double in size (about 30 mins). I then brushed with a little meltled strawberry jam and bung them in the oven  till they were puffy and golden. Let them cool on a rack before dusting with icing sugar. Easy, peasy Chrissy yumminess..............

Taking it to the next level

The frame for the next level has begun. Still a lot of rain and thunderstorms hanging about, so Mr3P has to stop/start nearly every day. He's up there right now as I write this post. I was up there with him about an hour ago (trying to be helpful), but I get a little nervous with the whole "heights thing". Hopefully he'll be finished for the day and can spend the rest of the arvo having a chillax.

Taters

These little fellas were recently dug up by Mr3P. They planted the seeds a few years ago and have had a few harvests since then. I just had to get a pic, before I turned them to mash!

The Great Ocean Road

Overlooking Bells Beach
We just did another road trip over the school holidays. this time we travelled the Great Ocean Road, from Bells Beach, Appollo Bay and Warnambool through  to Mt Gambier in SA , then back thru Penola, Dayelsford, Ballarat and back home.
I'm linking this post today to one of my favourite blogs : A Beach Cottage for "Good Life Australia Wednesday"

This fella has seen better days

MacKenzies falls. We saw a lot of caves and a lot of waterfalls.

The Trout Farm in Dayelsford. You should have seen the one that got away!!. We ate Maccas for lunch that day !

Panning for Gold in Soverign Hill. We found a couple of grain size pieces. Even my Macro lens failed to get a good shot, so you'll have to imagine.

We stayed at Kryal Castle on the last night. it's a real size replica of a medievil castle. the kids loved it. Sadly we had to leave before the jousting festival that they do every year, will definitely be back for next year.

We love our road trips. Not sure where to next?? Any suggestions??
